It's that time of the year again, and we're thrilled to announce that Flower Basket Sponsorships for the 2025 season will open March 1st! Join us in enhancing the beauty of our charming community along Harborview Drive with 53 stunning flower baskets.
What You Get:
Personalized Placard: Each sponsorship comes with a personalized placard, proudly displayed on the post of the sponsored flower basket. Dedicate it to a loved one, showcase your business, honor a furry friend – the possibilities are endless!
Exclusions: While we welcome a variety of dedications, please note that we cannot accept sponsorships with religious or political affiliations.

LIGHTPOST BANNERS PROGRAM
Exciting news for 2025! The Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance is launching a brand-new Lightpost Banner Program to enhance the beauty of our historic waterfront district year-round. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Morning Rotary Club of Gig Harbor, up to 40 stunning banners will be installed along Harborview Drive, half of them debuting alongside the beloved flower baskets in the spring. These banners will be placed in areas where flower baskets haven’t traditionally worked—whether due to shade, structural or watering challenges—ensuring our streetscape remains vibrant and welcoming.
We're collaborating with a local artist and designer to create four unique banner designs that celebrate Gig Harbor’s rich maritime heritage and charming waterfront. The long-term vision is to expand the program so that when flower baskets come down for the season, these beautiful banners will continue to add color and character to our streets. Banners are a simple yet impactful way to enhance a community, creating a sense of place and pride while welcoming visitors and residents alike. Huge thanks to the Morning Rotary Club of Gig Harbor for making this exciting new project possible!”
VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering to be part of our Flower Basket Watering Program! Please note we need volunteers to water the baskets every morning between Mother's Day and Labor Day, possibly longer depending on the weather. Watering hours begin at 5:30am and volunteers normally finish watering by 7am. Each shift requires two volunteers so feel free to sign up with a friend or family member.
To volunteer, fill out the volunteer agreement form and submit it, along with a copy of your Driver’s License. Your application will not be considered complete until these documents have been received and approved.
Please note that this program is run in partnership with the City of Gig Harbor and you will be either driving or riding in a city owned vehicle. The City of Gig Harbor requires all volunteers to fill out and sign the volunteer agreement form and submit a copy of their Drivers License in order to run a background check.
