Finholm Lighting Project

2025 PLACEMAKING PROJECT

The Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance is proud to unveil our 2025 Placemaking Project that brings new life—and light—to the historic Finholm District. As part of our mission to support a vibrant and thriving waterfront district through economic vitality, design, promotions, and community outreach, the Alliance partnered with Outdoor Lighting Perspectives South Sound, their corporate team, and four dedicated property owners to install elegant roofline lighting on five key buildings. This initiative was driven by a desire to enhance public safety, boost evening visibility, and reinforce the welcoming charm that makes the Finholm District such a treasured part of our harbor community.

Once dimly lit and underutilized after sunset, the Finholm District now shines with a warm, cohesive glow that draws residents and visitors alike to explore, dine, and shop into the evening hours. The lighting not only improves visibility and safety but also highlights the district’s unique architectural character and maritime charm, creating a more inviting and vibrant atmosphere for all.

Thanks to the collaboration between the property owners, the lighting professionals, and the Alliance—along with generous cost-sharing and community-minded support—this project stands as a testament to the power of partnership in community enhancement. As we continue working to foster a dynamic, connected, and welcoming waterfront, the Finholm lighting project serves as a brilliant example of what’s possible when vision meets collaboration.

We can’t wait to share our 2026 Placemaking Project with you soon!
