Chalk the Harbor: Thank You for a Record-Breaking 2025!

 

The 2025 Chalk the Harbor and Waterfront Artwalk proved to be our most vibrant and successful event yet! This established Gig Harbor tradition remains a free, family-friendly event where participants transform the sidewalks of Harborview Drive into stunning chalk creations of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels.

In 2025, the event built significantly on its street-chalking foundation, expanding into a district-wide celebration of art and community. Beyond the chalking, we added live art demonstrations, local artist showcases, and hands-on opportunities for attendees to interact directly with art. This expansion fulfilled our goal to create a more diverse and interactive experience, successfully fostering creativity and appreciation for the arts while celebrating local culture and history.

The launch of the massive collaborative mural, "Community Currents," was a highlight, with over 700 attendees contributing their own unique designs. We are thrilled to invite you to celebrate this lasting public art installation at its official unveiling on Tuesday, October 22nd at 11 am at Direction Apparel on Harborview Drive.
