Chalk the Harbor

Celebrating Art & Community

Saturday, August 16th, 2025, 10:00am - 5:00pm

Gig Harbor Waterfront Business District (Harborview Dr)

In celebration of art and community, Chalk the Harbor will feature a diverse array of artists showcasing their talents throughout the picturesque Gig Harbor waterfront. In partnership with local businesses or in designated outdoor booth spaces, accepted artists will gain valuable exposure through the widely distributed Chalk the Harbor Event Guide (online and print).

Showcase Artists

Selected artists will be offered the opportunity to showcase and sell their work in one of two ways:

  • Business Partnership (Pop-Up Style): You may be hosted by a participating waterfront business, providing an indoor setting to display your art.

  • Outdoor Booth Space: You will be assigned a designated outdoor area along Harborview Drive where you can set up your own display (artists are responsible for providing your own space/booth fixtures e.g. canopy, tables, chairs etc)

The Waterfront Alliance will make location assignments based on availability and will strive to accommodate artist requirements to the best of our ability.

As a Showcase Artist, you will spend the day engaging with visitors, promoting your artwork, and have the opportunity to sell directly to customers (artists are responsible for ensuring they have any required licenses or permits for event sales).

Priority consideration for location will be given to artists who are able to provide a Live Demonstration during the event.

Live Demonstration Artists

We highly encourage artists to incorporate live demonstrations of their artistic process. This adds an engaging and interactive element to Chalk the Harbor for our attendees.

  • Demonstration Time: Live demonstrations should be active for a minimum of 2 hours between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. You are welcome to demonstrate for longer periods.

  • Demonstration Schedule: Your scheduled demonstration time(s) will be promoted within the Chalk the Harbor Event Guide.

  • Demonstration Description: Please briefly describe the live demonstration you plan to conduct.

  • Preferred Demonstration Time(s): Please indicate your preferred 2-hour (or longer) window for your demonstration between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences.

  • Space and Technical Needs: Please clearly detail all your requirements for facilitating your demonstration, including:

    • Space Requirements (approximate size):

    • Ventilation Needs:

    • Electricity Requirements (voltage/amperage):

    • Water Access:

    • Any other specific needs:

  • Safety Considerations (if applicable): If your demonstration involves any potentially hazardous materials or processes, please outline the safety measures you will take.
